The mission of the Infectious Disease Fellowship at KPC Health in Hemet, California is to provide comprehensive, evidence-based clinical experience to train outstanding infectious disease sub-specialist physicians who help people achieve healthy and productive lives.
Infectious Disease Fellowship
PROGRAM MISSION

PROGRAM AIMS:
- To improve the quality of care for patients treated at Hemet Global Medical Center that suffer from complicated acute and chronic conditions, and other infectious diseases.
- To improve access to specialty care for patients in Hemet and the surrounding communities, as this is a medically underserved area.
- To offer more comprehensive and in-depth training opportunities for medical students, residents and residency graduates so they may learn to effectively treat infectious diseases.

TRAINING SITES & ROTATIONS
There are two main sites for the Infectious Disease Fellowship: Hemet Global Medical Center (HGMC) in Hemet, CA and Med Ped ID, Inc in Murietta, CA. Hemet Global Medical Center is a 327-bed hospital founded in 1943 and is fully accredited by the Joint Commission. All inpatient consult rotations will occur at HGMC.
Med Ped ID, Inc is a medical group where all outpatient and continuity clinic training will occur under the supervision of core faculty and/or the Program Director. Outpatient blocks will include the following clinics: Infection Control/Epidemiology, Microbiology/STD, Oncology, Elective/Peds & Transplant.
The two years of training will consist of 13, 4-week blocks.
PGY4:
- ID Inpatient Consults at HGMC – 6 blocks
- Outpatient Blocks at Med Ped ID Inc – 5 blocks
- Research – 1 block
- Vacation/Conference – 1 block
PGY5:
- ID Inpatient Consults at HGMC – 6 blocks
- Outpatient Blocks at Med Ped ID Inc – 5 blocks
- Research – 1 block
- Vacation/Conference – 1 block
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must have:
- *Completed a U.S. residency in internal medicine
- Board-certification or board-eligibility in internal medicine
- Proof of passing the three-step United States Medical Licensing Examination® (USMLE).
* Applicants with 3 years of international internal medicine training will also be considered in accordance with ACGME Guidelines.
